Principal
Yule Guttenbeil
Yule Guttenbeil is the Principal of Attune Legal and a recognised authority in technology, energy, and commercial law. With 18 years of experience spanning biotechnology, digital innovation, and the National Energy Market, he combines technical fluency with strategic commercial insight—counsel designed for organisations operating at velocity.
A core principle guides Attune Legal’s practice: doing work well and designing contracted relationships that function, rather than cleaning up mess. Yule’s approach reflects a belief that legal excellence should enhance operational momentum, not constrain it. Whether advising on AI governance frameworks, NEM compliance structures, or intellectual property commercialisation, he delivers precision without bureaucracy.

Beyond Legal Practice
Yule is co-founder of the LexNova Guild—a collaborative network enabling independent legal practitioners to operate with the strategic advantages of larger firms while maintaining autonomy—and co-founder of Good Axe Professional Workspaces, providing premium coworking environments across Melbourne.
He has developed UseBetterMetrics—the AIM Framework, a taxonomy for human motivation. This work reflects Yule’s interest in the foundational structures that drive decision-making, organisational behaviour, and strategic alignment.
Before law, Yule was a working musician. Signed to Loop Recordings in New Zealand and later performing as Ulysses Wulf in Melbourne, he explored conceptual storytelling and electronic-organic fusion. That background informs his legal practice: both disciplines demand precision under constraint, the capacity to hold multiple moving parts in productive tension, and an understanding that execution is inseparable from intent.
